Ninth episode of the series “Your home, your door”

In the next episode, we meet Rosalia and her mother Marta. It is an honest conversation between two generations about what home means for a teenager who needs her own space, and for a mother who tenderly watches her daughter grow up. Their dialogue is a story about closeness, emotions, the need for independence and the boundaries that doors sometimes mark.

A home can be like a theatre stage. Sometimes loud, full of laughter and arguments, at other times quiet and closed behind the door of a room. For Rosalia, it is a space where she can be herself, but also a place she sometimes wants to leave to see something new. And although the world outside the home tempts, it is here that a sense of safety always awaits.

For Marta, home is also a stage. One from which she has been watching her daughter grow up for years. It is a place woven from everyday rituals, scents and small gestures that build memories. You only need to open the cocoa cupboard to see in your mind a little girl curled up under a blanket. Even when we step away for a moment, home stays within us.

Doors also appear in their conversation. For Rosalia, they are a barrier and the possibility of deciding what she lets into her world and what she wants to shut out. For Marta, doors become the frame of a picture that is constantly changing. At times you see a worried face in it, at others a smile. Most important, however, is that on the other side there is always someone close, regardless of whether the doors are open or closed.
