Bedroom design – first episode of the series “Quality that inspires”

The bedroom is one of the most personal interiors in a home. It is a space for rest, quiet, and daily regeneration. That is why its design should combine aesthetics with functionality, and every element, from the arrangement of the bed to the choice of doors, must form a coherent, thoughtful whole.

In the first episode of the series "Quality that inspires", the DRE brand ambassador, architect and designer of the DRE Supreme door line, Krzysztof Miruć, talks about designing bedrooms. He shows how important interior ergonomics, proper zoning of space, and conscious alignment of sightlines are.

The most important element of the bedroom remains the bed. Its size should be matched not only to the needs of the users, but also to the proportions of the room. Equally important is what we see upon entering the interior and what view accompanies us as we fall asleep and wake up. A well-designed bedroom should be beautiful from the architect's perspective, but above all comfortable from the user's perspective.

In the presented project, a large bedroom was divided into two zones: a sleeping area and a work and relaxation area. The arrangement uses natural veneer in lighter and darker shades, fabrics with a distinct weave, and a repeating motif of vertical lines. It appears in the ceiling slats, linear lighting, the panel separating the zones, and on the door leaves.

The interior is complemented by simple door leaves DRE Supreme SOL 4. Their white, lacquered surface harmoniously blends with the walls, while the subtle fluting introduces an elegant graphic detail. The vertical lines on the door refer to the other elements of the arrangement, building a calm, consistent rhythm throughout the interior. The black, openwork handle, on the other hand, provides a coherent reference to the steel panel separating the sleeping zone from the relaxation area.

Light also plays an important role in the project. Linear lighting emphasises the architecture of the interior, separates functions, and builds atmosphere, while decorative lamps in the bed zone give the whole a modern, soft character.

The first episode of the series "Quality that inspires" shows that a well-designed bedroom is not just beautiful materials and elegant accessories. It is, above all, a thoughtful composition in which function, light, proportions, and doors form one harmonious whole.
