Choosing the right doors is one of the most important decisions when furnishing a house or apartment. At DRE, we know perfectly well how many questions arise at the stage of planning, comparing models and placing an order. On our YouTube channel, we have launched a new series of guide videos in which our experts will answer the questions most frequently asked by customers.
The first episode of the series opens with a topic that often raises the most questions: How to tell whether a door is right- or left-handed?
Although it sometimes seems problematic, in reality the rule is very simple. Karolina Ossowska from DRE explains how to determine the door's hand in just a few seconds, regardless of whether you are choosing a rebated or rebate-free model. How to do it?
Stand on the side of the door towards which it will open — that is, so that the leaf opens towards you.
Look at the hinges:
- If they are located on the right side, you have a right-handed door,
- If they are on the left, it is a left-handed door.
- If they are on the left, it is a left-handed door.
In the case of rebated doors, the matter is exceptionally simple, because the hinges are visible on the outside. In rebate-free doors, the hinges are hidden, so it is enough to open the leaf slightly to see them. This and other videos can be watched on our channel on YouTube.
