How to choose a door for the bathroom?

Choosing doors for a bathroom can be a difficult task. They not only need to match the style and colors of the bathroom, but also facilitate everyday use. How to choose bathroom doors so that they please the eye, match the interior, and at the same time serve for years? Here is our guide.

Bathroom doors in various styles

Before choosing doors, it is worth determining the style of the bathroom in which they will be placed. For a modern bathroom, a good choice would be simple doors without decorative panels or glazing. In bathrooms decorated in an eco spirit and boho style, doors with a wood-imitating veneer will present themselves perfectly. The WOOD collection inspired by French herringbone will diversify and warm any interior.

In Scandinavian-style bathrooms, doors made of light wood and white doors will work well. For cozy interiors in light colors, we recommend a classic-style leaf from the Nestor collection.

It should be remembered that bathroom doors are not the only leaf in a house or apartment. They should not only match the bathroom, but also the style of the hallway or corridor, and also refer to the other leaves in the house. To maintain consistency, we recommend choosing doors from the same collection. Bathroom doors can have, for example, smaller glazing that ensures intimacy, but they will be similar in style to the others.

Bathroom doors with glazing and sliding bathroom doors

Bathroom doors should provide privacy and acoustic insulation. Depending on preferences, you can choose doors completely without glazing or those with frosted glass and decorative glass. Look at the catalog to see available patterns. In a house or apartment used by several household members, doors with very subtle glazing in the form of horizontal stripes, e.g. from the Auri collection, will also work well.

For bathrooms or public toilets, hinged doors should be installed, as they have better acoustic properties than sliding doors. An exception may be, for example, bedrooms connected to a private bathroom, which remain open on a daily basis and which we want to separate only partially.

Interior doors for the bathroom and safety

When choosing doors for the bathroom, one should also remember about comfort and safety of use. This should be guided by building law specifying the conditions that must be met for bathroom doors to be safe and functional.

Above all, bathroom doors must open outwards, which is understandable – after all, it is about having access to the bathroom in an emergency, without obstacles. The required door dimensions are a minimum of 80 cm in width and 2 metres in height, but it is also worth paying attention to their thickness, which should be at least 35 mm.

In a corridor with a large number of door leaves, where the bathroom door is the only one that opens outwards, it is worth using a door with a reversed rebate. Bathroom doors and room ventilation

A bathroom, especially one without a window, is a room particularly exposed to the harmful effects of moisture. Here too, building law comes to the rescue, specifying the rules for installing ventilation openings that guarantee air flow and ventilation of the room. This allows unpleasant odours and excessive moisture to be avoided, which is important for maintaining hygiene and the durability of the bathroom finish. In our doors, depending on the collection, we use two solutions – undercuts or ventilation sleeves.
