Ideal Solution for Transparent Roofing
Cellular polycarbonate is also known as structural polycarbonate, multiwall polycarbonate, or channel polycarbonate. The material received the name “cellular” due to its special internal structure. The air contained in the cavities between the layers (called cells) provides high thermal insulation properties, while the internal stiffening ribs ensure strong structural strength of the sheet material.
It is produced by extrusion from high-quality polycarbonate raw materials supplied by leading manufacturers and complies with ISO quality standards adopted in Europe and worldwide. Cellular polycarbonate is resistant to ultraviolet radiation, has good thermal insulation properties, high light transmission, and solid impact resistance. The sheets are widely used in architecture and construction where high thermal insulation, strength, and load resistance are required.
Structural polycarbonate panels are hollow sheets in which two or more layers of polycarbonate are connected by longitudinal stiffening ribs. The extrusion process makes it possible to produce panels with high strength and flexibility, thin walls (0.3–0.6 mm), and low weight without losing impact resistance. By purchasing sheet polycarbonate, you obtain a versatile solution suitable for a wide range of applications.
PLASTILUX-GROUP manufactures channel polycarbonate under the brands ULTRAMARIN, SUNNEX, and POLYNEX. It is widely used in agriculture for greenhouses, conservatories, winter gardens, verandas and similar structures. In design and advertising, cellular polycarbonate is used for exhibition stands, pavilions and display showcases. Outdoor illuminated advertising is also difficult to imagine today without this material.
Cellular polycarbonate sheets are активно used in construction and renovation. They allow the creation of high light-transmitting roofs and are indispensable for glazing roofs and stained-glass structures. Panels are also used for arched gallery coverings. Solid polycarbonate can be used for highway noise barriers. Additionally, polycarbonate is suitable for office partitions, interior doors glazing, swimming pools and sports facilities, canopies and awnings, as well as shower and bathroom partitions.
Application Depending on Thickness
-
4 mm – small greenhouses, canopies, advertising structures
-
6 mm – wide application (greenhouses, awnings, glazing)
-
8 mm – canopies, partitions, greenhouses, roofs
-
10 mm – vertical glazing, highway noise barriers, roof skylights
-
16 mm – roofs with large spans and high load structures
